The tradition in Sweden is that early in the morning girls in white clothes with a red sash and with candles on their heads wake family and elderly folk and bring food. Special Lucia songs are also sung. Every village chooses its own ‘Lucia’ every year. During the Lucia festival, Lussekatter (yellow saffron buns) and pepparkaka are often eaten. And don’t forget to try Glögg. Click on the link to find the recipes.
